Tuffy "The Professor" Stone
Tuffy “The Professor” Stone brings his award-winning competition barbecue skills to the Primo family. Tuffy will also be integrating Primo into his intensive Cool Smoke BBQ cook school in Richmond, Virginia as well as demonstrating a Primo Ceramic Grill at events and while he tours the nation on the competition barbecue circuit.
We congratulate Tuffy on being the only 3-time Grand Champion of The Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue with his recent win in 2016. He is also the first back-to-back Grand Champion of the "The Jack" having won the title in 2015.
“I have been a fan of the Primo brand for years now so this partnership feels like a natural next step,” shared Stone. “Primo Grills are produced just outside of Atlanta in Tucker, Georgia and I have truly enjoyed spending time with the Primo folks and seeing their production line first hand. I’m proud to represent this product and I look forward to sharing Primo with my family, friends and fans.”
Brian & Jodi Travis from Hoover, AL
We started competing in BBQ contests in 2006 finishing third in our first contest. By our fourth contest we won our first Grand Championship. Over the past 10 years we have won 10 Grand Championships around the southeast.
Primo grills are great versatile cooker for BBQ contests. Whether we are cooking our large cuts of meats low and slow or cooking chicken at higher temps, Primo grills can be trusted to deliver award winning BBQ.

We love cooking BBQ and it brings our family together, doing what we all love the best. The Primo is easy to use, it's our go to grill/ smoker at the house and at the competitions. It produces excellent results, we couldn't live without the Primo Ceramic Grills. It can cook everything very well, from Pizza to brisket... It's amazing!
Smoke of The Shoals
Wesley Burden, assistant pitmaster Wade Defoor Hammer Patterson from Leighton, AL
Smoke of The Shoals started competing competitively in 2008. Ken and Wesley are original team members and have been friends since childhood. Ken began competing as an assistant on another BBQ team that competed primarily on the Memphis in May BBQ circuit. The team Ken started with actually used Primo's and that is how he began cooking with them. While using Primo Ceramic Grills since Smoke of The Shoals began competing, we have won countless awards, including many first place awards in categories over the years. We have placed as Reserve Grand Champion but we are still chasing our first Grand Championship. We have acquired three 180 pins over the past few years. Our first came in pork in 2010 in Athens, AL. Our next two came at the same contest in Nashville, TN in 2013 where we had first place perfect 180's in both pork and brisket at the same competition. We believe that Primo is the premier ceramic cooker and smoker on the market today. We know they give us a competitive advantage due to their ability to maintain consistent temperatures, retain moisture in the cooking product, and due to their amazing versatility.
Don Marco's Barbecue
Marco Greulich from Germany
I am a passionate barbecuer from Germany and started to cook serious American style barbecue almost 20 years ago back when it was still totally unknown over here.
My competition career started in 2007 when we won the German BBQ Championships for our first participation. We took that trophy home two more times in the following years. We even won the 2008 WBQA World BBQ Championships in Belgium, and made 2nd place at the 2011 WBQA World BBQ Championships in Germany.
At the 2009 Jack Daniels Barbecue Invitational in Lynchburg, Tennessee we made a first place in a category with 179.8 of 180 possible points, of course cooked on a Primo Oval XL. From 2012 on, with KCBS Style BBQ growing a lot over here, we focussed on KCBS Events all over Europe.
In 2010 I started the first professional high quality BBQ Rub line in Europe. It has grown to a nice range of rubs, sauces and accessories which are available now at hundreds of dealers all over Europe. Our Products are used by great bbq teams which get calls regularly at competitions all over the world. These rubs are also a reliable asset for any backyard chef.
I cooked on a Primo Oval the first time in 2008 and was hooked right away.
The overall quality, even heat distribution, easy of use and the quality of the BBQ a Primo produces are out of this world.
The oval shape allows for unmatched versatility and cooking space.
Of course, the first Primo Oval I used in 2008 is still around and in awesome condition. I’m looking forward to many years of cooking on my Primo ceramic grills.
