Can't say enough good things about my Primo Grill and Smoker. I bought it 2 years ago.
I've always cooked on a Weber kettle grill (for 23 years). Sadly, I gave it to my son to use and entered another world of outdoor cooking. 'WOW!' is normally the comment I get from people that come over for a cookout. They can't believe the taste of the food coming from this Primo Grill and Smoker.
There was a learning curve at first, but those days are now behind me. It's just a matter of perfecting what I want to accomplish with my food. Not at all afraid to enter any competitions, because I know my Primo will never let me down.

I was a dedicated Rusthead, having learned to smoke foods on a $30 ECB, and then on a New Braunfels Black Diamond. I was yearning for something more, something more exciting, more esoteric. I was looking at high-end steel smokers, from companies in Texas and Louisiana, and an office buddy of mine asked "have you thought of ceramic?" Honestly, I hadn't, because of capacity, but he told me that he was surfing the web, and had read about an oblong shaped smoker. A few clicks later, I disovered Primo. I immediately fell into lust with that Oval. A few phone calls to George and a couple of conversations with my wife later, I had my Oval on my patio, and in its table, ready to roll.
After assembly, and some great forum give and take with the likes of Tim M., Char Woody, Rumrunner and the rest of the devotees, I was up in running.
Two years later, friends are still commenting on my "smoked brisket" and my beef ribs; my wife and kids dig the salmon. Friends ask when they can come over for a meal, and my buddy Larry even bought me 3 ducks last summer and had me cook them for an end of the summer BBQ. While the learning curve was short, the accolades, and most importantly the taste, have become legendary.
I cannot get enough of the Oval, the forum, and Primo, as a company dedicated to customer service and manufacturing products that fit the needs of their customer.

I chose the Primo oval because of it's extra capacity. I've got
three small boys now who are going to eat me out of house and home in
a few years. I knew the other ceramics would be big enough to handle
most things but the extra space coupled with the extra racks is
really nice. I also use the firebox divider to do smaller indirect
smokes. I'm sure you'd be happy with any of the ceramics, but I'd buy
another oval if I had to do it over again. Made in the USA wasn't the
deciding factor but it is a plus to me.

the house.

"The Primo Oval is the most versatile ceramic cooker I have
used. It's definitely a world-class cooker."

"The Primo Ceramics smoker and grill is definitely the finest
smoker or grill I have ever cooked on. I have been involved in
cooking as a hobby and pass time for many years and got involved in
competition cooking 6 years ago.
I purchased my first ceramic unit 5years ago and was so amazed at
the efficiency and fantastic flavor and results that I purchased 6
more and proceeded to build a mobile unit to satisfy my competition
needs. I successfully used the units (a competitive brand) for 4
years on the competition trail. I was introduced to the PRIMO unit
and found it to be even more efficient than the other brand of
ceramic smoker I was using. I now am the proud owner of several PRIMO
units and have converted my competition unit totally to PRIMO. The
new PRIMO OVAL is my cooker of choice as it will handle from small to
large quantity, a must with competitions. Best of all everyone can
cook competition quality product on a PRIMO."

"I recently purchased a Primo, after using the standard gas
and charcoal offerings over the years. The learning curve is short
and the end product is phenomenal. This is the easiest, quickest and
tastiest barbecuing I've ever done! The "Lifetime Guarantee"
is what sold me.
In an age when so many products don't live up to their advertising
claims, The Primo Kamado does everything you say it does. I am one
satisfied customer, and will continue to be for years to come."

"The customer service at Primo is second to none."

"More taste than from any gas grill made, easy to use and fun
too. Getting the large ceramic Primo was the best thing I have ever
done in BBQ'ing. It is the most versatile tool around. At parties we
all gather around the Primo while it's cooking, what a great
conversation piece. Being made in the USA rather than its
competitor's in Mexico is a big plus too."

"Surfing the Smoke Ring and found a site about ceramic
cookers and it started my interest. After a lot of reading I purchased
a Primo Oval for about half the price of the Stainless Steel Smoker.
This Grill is so versatile. I have cooked a 20lb Turkey with plenty
of room for its Father and Mother. Did a overnight cook for about 18
hours for Pulled Pork. Put 5lbs of lump in the fire box for the low
and slow and only burned up about half the Charcoal.
I have a Weber Kettle Grill, and a Pitts & Spitts offset
smoker and neither can compare to The Primo Oval. I'M not a seasoned
cook but the Primo Oval makes it so simple with great results.
Primo customer service is second to none. "

"My gas grill is now rusting away behind the garage. I will
never go back to that bland cooking grill, my family will not allow it."
Slim - Dallas, Tx
"Cooking on ceramic grills has really changed my life and my
cooking abilities have gone from bland and boring to crowd pleasing.
I have really enjoyed my Primo's and the quality is better than
others on the market. The Gas 2000 has also surprised me with its
abilities and quality of food it produces with ease. I would never go
back to charcoal briquettes or plain old gas grills again."

Even though the Oval looks like a bathtub, it holds a boatload of
food. The Oval is one serious cooking machine.
Nature Boy - Fairfax, Va
"Don't know about the large or mediums, but the best thing
Primo has going for them IMHO is the OVAL. That is one mean Qing
machine. "
Doc Pigg - Primo Forum
Ceramic is much more forgiving in the colder climates, not as apt
to fluctuate temps in wind or rain, can cook all night on one load of
charcoal with no trouble.
Mop - Canada
Primo has had some innovations (ie the oval, spring hinge) which
makes me think that Primo is always looking for a way to improve the
product. Currently using the oval which provides a large cooking area
and a lot of flexibility. I'm sold on the Primo.

The Primo 2000 is easily the best gas grill I have ever owned. Its
easier to cook on than the others I've owned (more forgiving) and
once the grill is fixed on a given temperature, it simply stays on
that temperature. Truly more like using an oven than any gas grill
I've ever used. (Makes it easier to cook, say, a butterfly chicken,
while making the "fixins" in the house at the same time.)
